Leif D. Erickson Educational Background

Leif graduated from Carleton College with a Bachelor’s degree in 1984. He attended Drake University Law School and graduated with honors in 1989. While in law school, he served on the Law Review. He is licensed to practice in both Iowa and Nebraska.

After law school, Leif clerked for the Hon. Celeste Bremer of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Iowa. He practiced as an insurance defense lawyer in Omaha, Nebraska and Sioux City, Iowa before opening his own practice in 2003. Leif has exclusively practiced personal injury representation, litigation, and workers’ compensation. He is very passionate about representing injured victims and is a longtime member of the Iowa Trial Lawyers Association, now the Iowa Association for Justice. He is also a member of the Iowa Bar Association and the Nebraska Bar Association.

Leif lectures at continuing legal education seminars on topics pertaining to personal injury and workers’ compensation litigation. Among other topics, he has spoken concerning insurance law, auto collision law, personal injury litigation, and personal injury settlement issues.

Leif D. Erickson Personal Life

Leif was born in Sioux City, Iowa. He spends most of his time with his wife Kim and their two children. Together they love to travel and enjoy Iowa’s incredible outdoors.

He also is a passionate cyclist and can frequently be found riding the county roads in and around Woodbury County. Occasionally, he sets his road bike aside for a pair of running shoes when a race is around the corner.
